My name is Sahra Camal and I am a proven expert in the field of migration and integration work.

I successfully completed my Masters degree at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2017 in Sociology with a focus on "Flight Research, Work and Educational Integration" and am currently doing my doctorate on the construction of social reality. In the subject area "Sociology of Knowledge and Migration".

In addition to my university qualification, which I obtained in Germany, I worked as a journalist on an international level with a focus on "International Relations" and a degree as a social scientist.
In 2005-2007, in cooperation with the University of Kabul (Afghanistan), I carried out a project on "Culture, Identity and Migration". During this time I lived continuously in Kabul.

In my bachelor thesis I dealt with the topic "Living and working conditions of young people in religiously different cities" and in my master thesis with the topic "Ambivalence between knowledge and reality with focus on new fugitives".

Consulting & Conception

In the years 2000-2006 I worked as a freelance journalist for the Afghan literary magazine "Dore Dari". There I was able to deal intensively with the subject of refugees and migrants, especially from Afghanistan.

In addition, the topic of womens and childrens rights in the Near and Middle East - especially in Iran and Afghanistan - has been of great interest to me. For this reason I worked with Amnesty International as a freelance journalist for more than 8 years.

In recent years I have worked as a research assistant on various research and practical projects in Germany.

My work tasks were on the one hand the consultation, organization and execution of different workshops like: Womens empowerment, educational and vocational orientation etc. of young people, on the other hand cooperation with companies and enterprises with the aim of interest and placement of young people in dual vocational training.

I work closely together with almost all public and private organisations that are cooperation partners in the field of "Intercultural opening for the training of young people with a migration background".

In addition, as an expert at organised events organised by state institutions and private institutions for fugitives, I spoke partly in my mother tongue on the major topics of school and education systems in Germany and work culture in Germany and discussed them with the participants (fugitives and migrants).

As a research assistant at the Center for Turkish Studies and Integration Research, I worked together with Prof. Dr. Haci-Halil Uslucan. Together we published an essay on the resilience potentials of young fugitives and immigrants in the book "Support of fugitives over their lifespan". https://www.beltz.de/fachmedien/sozialpaedagogik_soziale_arbeit/

Being a research assistant within the project had enabled me to recognise the competence of migrant women and to describe conflict patterns precisely.

During my work as a research assistant at the DOMiD Documentation Centre and Museum on Migration in Germany (2017/18), I learned how projects are conceived and how an integration of fugitives can be documented and analysed.
