The basis of a beneficial consultation lies in its effectiveness. The more effective the consultation, the more positive the influence on the individual integration process. Due to our cultural background we know the needs and worries of people who have to find their way in a foreign country with an unknown culture. Furthermore, with the help of our scientific, professional and cultural background, we are able to provide these people with the right support.
This is where ZiTuK starts:
With our workshops we would like to give refugees and people with a migration background a good start into a new life.
On the other hand, we offer seminars for education providers, teachers, in schools and actors in the field of social work, education and training for adults, who provide them with additional qualifications.
The seminars are offered in German, English, Persian, Dari and Arabic.
For two years now, we have been offering our further training courses, especially for fugitives and their integration, in cooperation with various welfare associations such as the AWO, state institutions, e.g. municipal integration authorities (KI) and other NRW-wide authorities, where they represent a valuable supplement and link between science and practice.
workshops and seminars
fugitives, education and culture in Germany
Integration through education is a successful integration. However, basic information about the German education and training system, as well as knowledge about access routes to it, is often lacking.
content
• How does the education system in Germany work?
• What are the differences and similarities between the education systems in the country of origin and the host country?
• How can migrants get to and progress in the German education system? What opportunities do they have?
• What is (dual) training and how does it work?
methodology and objectives
Methodology are in this workshop lecture and presentation. For arrival and integration it is important to understand the basics well. Therefore, seminars will be held in German, Arabic, Farsi (Pashto, Dari, Persian) and English for the refugees and migrants in Germany and North Rhine-Westphalia.
target group: New migrants, in particular parents and also young fugitives or migrants
education systems and educational situation in countries of origin of fugitives
There is a lack of basic knowledge about the educational system and the educational situation with regard to the causes of flight and cultural imprinting in the countries of origin of refugees in order to provide complete advice on both educational and vocational orientation of refugees and migrants.
content
• How is the education system structured in the countries of origin?
• What are the differences and similarities between the education systems in the countries of origin and the German education system?
• How does education work in countries of origin?
• What are the challenges young people in Germany are often confronted with?
• Which education and training systems in the country of origin will enable them to pursue which professional future?
methodology and objectives
Methodology are in this workshop lecture and presentation. The answers to the above questions can only come from mutual knowledge and successful communication. In workshops participants and experts will deal with the topics as well as with the causes of flight, educational systems of the home countries, educational aspirations, etc. The aim is to increase the variety of counselling and mutual understanding for each other.
target group: teachers, counselling teachers and social workers
voice and communication training
During interviews with potential employers, the voice is exposed to many demands and strains. Especially when language skills are limited, voice and pitch play an important role. In the interview, appearance and body language are also very important. For this reason, this seminar also works on the participants gestures, eye contact and facial expressions.
content
• What does body language look like?
• What are the challenges in an interview?
• What are the persons personal strengths? And how should they be emphasized?
methodology and objectives
The workshop offers a holistic voice, sound and body training, tailored to the special situation of people with flight and migration background. Exercises for "sitting" the voice, dealing with nervousness and body language are part of the training. The aim is a lively, listener-oriented expression that can lead to productive conversations and successful communication. The differences in direct contact with each other in comparison to the country of origin will also be an important topic.
target group: new migrants or migrants and fugitives
networks and contact building on the labour market
"What are you doing?" is one of the most frequently asked questions people use to get to know each other and expand their networks. A second important factor in establishing contacts is what is known as "small talk". For people who have only recently arrived in Germany or who do not (yet) have a good command of the language due to their migration background, every beginning of a conversation is a great challenge.
content
• How does a successful "Small Talk" work?
• Which tools facilitate the establishment of contact?
• How can you develop a short profile in order to present the competences in a short, concise and interesting way?
methodology and objectives
The workshop offers a three-step small talk model to enable a conversation in a relaxed and confidential atmosphere.
The course participants get to know and practice the so-called "creative entrance" as the opening of a conversation. The "constructive method" enables them to bring something active into a conversation. The aim is to create a successful "overall picture".
target group: new migrants or migrants and fugitives
women with a refugee or migration background - empowerment
When we talk about the distribution of gender roles, women usually come first as mothers, housewives and men as breadwinners and earners. This distribution of roles increases in patriarchal countries. For women with a refugee background, it is important to understand what empowerment means: women are at the centre - their professional and personal development, their perspectives, their desires, their feelings and their culture.
content
• What opportunities do women with a refugee background have here in Germany?
• Where do they get support to get ahead personally and professionally?
• How can family and career be reconciled?
• What does the labour market look like for women with refugees and families?
methodology and objectives
The aim of the workshop is to give women a space to network, to strengthen their professional and educational profiling and to respond individually to their needs. With the "method of role play" the participants expand their scope of action and learn from reflection to use new approaches and to refine their skills.
target group: women with refugee and migration backgrounds
creatively solving individual conflicts
Where people interact, misunderstandings and conflicts are often a natural consequence. Above all, misunderstandings accumulate due to incomprehension, i.e. ignorance in areas where people have different cultural, social and linguistic backgrounds. Thus emotionally charged situations can develop from apparently small causes, from which burdening or durable conflicts grow and at the same time prejudices are strengthened.
content
• What is the difference between problems and conflicts?
• How to solve conflicts?
• What types of conflicts are there and how do we deal with them?
methodology and objectives
In order to avoid conflicts that may arise from the above situations as far as possible and to counteract the threat of speechlessness, clarification is needed.
The aim of the workshop is for the participants to face up to their prejudices and become aware of them as the first goal. It is also important - analogous to the courses in which "locals" can acquire intercultural competences - to make cultural differences an overall theme.
target group:
1. teachers, counselling teachers and social workers
2. new migrants or migrants and fugitives
part of society with children
Both refugee women and many women with a migration background find themselves in special life situations when they want to start an education or take a job as mothers. In such situations, reconciling everyday family life without the support of family members, without knowledge of social structures and a lack of language skills is a serious challenge.
content
• How important is education or job in life, and how satisfied are women with it?
• How does the compatibility of family and career work?
• What forms of work are there for single mothers?
methodology and objectives
Using role-playing methods and group dynamics, the participants should reflect on their family situation and their environment. They develop ideas on how to live with children in local society. The aim is for the participants to learn a useful everyday strategy to reconcile their families with work or education.
target group: parents with flight and migration background
secure and visible communication (arrival)
Communicating as adults is of central importance for networking, profiling and integration. Communicating despite a lack of language and cultural knowledge is a particular challenge. New immigrants need a strategy for secure and visible communication. Since there is no federal or state programme for this, these strategies should be developed together. In this way, rights and duties can be recognised in equal measure, and people can move safely within these structures.
content
• Which authorities play a role in fugitives and what does it look like? (Foreigners Authority, Job Centre, Federal Employment Agency as well as organisations like Diakonie, Caritas, AWO etc.)
• Which authorities play a role and what do they look like?
• …
methodology and objectives
The workshop will highlight the different aspects of arrival processes, different arrival perspectives, rights and obligations. This changes the perspective immigrants have on the receiving society. That is the declared aim of this course.
target group: new migrants or migrants and fugitives
strengthening personality: resource-oriented self-management
To escape, lose family, work, friends and acquaintances all at once and to work, study or lead a normal everyday life in a still foreign country, of which there is little or no background knowledge, is not only not easy, but difficult and therefore not a matter of course. It is an art to discover ones own strengths and to manage oneself.
content
• What are the strengths of people with an escape background?
• How can the new life situation be reflected productively with individual patterns of thought and action?
• How can fugitives develop their own resources after experiencing catastrophes and personal strokes of fate?
methodology and objectives
The workshop gives participants the opportunity to discover their own competences and abilities in everyday life and to further develop them in a targeted way. This means that our workshops create resilience profiles in order to make their increase visible, tangible and useful for participants.
target group: new migrants or migrants and fugitives
exchange value systems
The people come to Europe with firmly closed coinages concerning their culture, history, education, religion and social structure. The refugees have left their home countries mainly for political reasons, i.e. they have fled war or the reasons that led to the wars. Refugees (such as Afghans and Syrians) will not be able to return home in the foreseeable future.
content
• What do the value systems in Germany and the countries of origin look like?
• What are the differences and similarities between the value systems?
• How do value systems work in countries of origin and also in Germany in reality?
methodology and objectives
In the workshop, the participants will jointly analyse their own values on a religious and cultural level and consciously deal with the issues of democracy and social values. The aim is to awaken awareness and consciously activate attitudes. Special methods are group reflection, controlled dialogue and mirror play.
